Thinking of Summer!

Well, we had a short break in our cold weather this week and since we had ONE day that got over freezing, I decided it was time to get the first layer of winter grime off the vehicle. Wow! I had forgotten how pretty my vehicle looks when it isn't coated in snow, salt and dirt. LOL.

I think some summer scrappin is in order today to help warm the mind and body. Today I have used a kit by Bratty Sisters Designs. The kit is Indian Summer and can be found at the Store on the Designs in Digital Website.

This picture was taken in 2004 when the neighborhood kids were in the neighbor's pool. I used a paper shaper from digiscrapdepot to create the waves in the paper and used several blending effects to create the flowers and the second set of waves.

We've Survived Record Breaking Temps

Well, this week was one to remember...I guess add it to the growing list of records over the past year. Last winter, 'almost' record breaking snowfall total; last spring, record breaking flood crest on the Cedar River with record flooding that was just unbelievable to see; this winter, record breaking temps -24 degrees below zero. It was so nice to see it at 4 degrees above zero yesterday. Not sure what it is today, but the winds cannot be helping what is feels like outside right now. We are supposed to get into the twenties and maybe thirties this next week. It will be like a heat wave, almost a 40-50 degree swing in temperatures!
Anyway, with thoughts of warm weather in my head, I created another page with Dorothy's Creations Spiced Leather kit. I used this page for last year's Father's Day picture of Bill and the kids. Everything is so green and pretty in the picture. It can only bring warmth to ones self. All the papers and elements are original to the kit, however, I should note that the mats under the picture I did create, but used colors included in the plaid section of the page.

Making today bright

Such a ominous day with the snow falling and then the reports that wind will start tonight and could reach gusts of 40 mph. Definitely will make for dangerous travels if anyone dares to venture out. I had some fun today after work and put together some fun pages with two new kits that I had been working with this month.

The first page I used a favorite picture of my hubby and me. I used the kit Winter Love that was a Designing Duo kit put together by Tink's Trinkets and Wimpychompers over at Designs in Digital. You can find the kit at the store over there.

The other kit was working with today was a new kit by Tiger Lily's Digis. She has created a great kit I <3u> over at Designs in Digital.

Darling daughter was being silly last Valentine's Day when she received these large chocolate lips. Thought these pages would help brighten the day with all the potential winter weather coming our way.

Hope you all had a great Monday!

It's Beautiful Outside

I enjoyed my drive into town today to get groceries. The snow we received on Friday has placed itself so beautifully on the evergreen trees in many yards along the way. I wish I would have brought my camera along for the drive and got some pictures. I'm sure there will be more opportunities though, as we are to get another 1-4 inches of snow tomorrow now too. It was nice out though with temps in the low 20s and very little wind. Tomorrow may be another story though with winds anticipated to pick up in the afternoon increasing the wind chill factor despite the temps are supposed to be in the 20s again. I guess with those increased winds, that explains why they have issued a blizzard warning for tomorrow. I was going to take daughter out for some pretty winter pics, but I have a feeling that those plans may have to wait.

More Snow

Well, we got hit with more snow last night again. It had been a little while since we've had this much at one time. At least it is a fluffier snow, but it was interesting driving last night to pick up my daughter from the movies. It sure would have been nice to be able to see the road. It was just all snow every where and was still coming down.
Today has been a good creative day though. I have been working on some of my pages using some kits over at Designs in Digital. One of my favorite ones (which is probably because it takes my to a warm place and fond memories) is the page I created using a kit from Dorothy's Creations called Spiced Leather. It can be found over at the Designs in Digital Store.

Working on Scrapbooks

Another icy morning here in Iowa. I guess that's what we get for wishing for a warmer winter....then we get ice instead of snow. Seems to be a common occurance this winter unfortunately. We will be having one last holiday gathering, then kids will be back to school tomorrow. The routine will be back finally...the holidays being on Thursdays this year really messed up my thinking of what day it was it seemed.

This morning I finally got a chance to work on some scrapbook pages and decided to work on some pages for daughter's soccer scrapbook. I downloaded a great soccer kit from Danielle Christiansen that can be found at http://www.danicdigiscraps.ecrater.com/ And here are the pages that I created. Thanks Danielle for the great kit!
